MY PATH TO MY WORK

The work I call the Spirit of Tantra is the culmination of my 35 year spiritual quest, beginning with learning Transcendental Meditation (TM) in 1966, at age 24. As I pursued various spiritual paths my purpose for being in spiritual practice began to unfold - my purpose was unification of my mind, body and spirit. Yet, I felt that all my spiritual work was happening between the heart and the crown, while my whole body below the heart was cut off. This furthered my sense of fragmentation, it did not contribute to unification. I began to observe that even in devoutly spiritual communities, the most difficult aspects of life were highlighted in interpersonal relationships. It’s so easy to see God in Buddha, in Christ and Mary - so hard to see God in my husband, my father, my best friend.

As I deepened my meditation practice, I started to notice a similar quality between meditation and sexual bonding. That quality was Unification, a sense of merging with the Universe. This compelling observation lead me to study at More University, dedicated to research into human sexuality. Their program strongly emphasized the man/woman relationship and communication. Additionally, they developed the “training cycle” as a context for mutual satisfaction. While this highly useful information lacked a spiritual dimension, per se, it did contribute to my unification by training me to experience extended and expanded orgasms, sometimes lasting more than half and hour. During these times, all my spiritual teachings became embodied, fully-experienced and clear.

From there, I was lead to the modern version of the ancient path of Tantra, which specifically attempted to bring spirituality into sexuality. With Tantric practice, I became fully certain that the Creator gave us sex as a direct path to experience our own Divine Nature. I saw sex as inherently sacred, a Divine Gift.

My spiritual quest led me to a relationship think-tank led by Michael Naumer, a brilliant spiritual teacher. There, we cultivated what Michael called “The Mind of Love.” We came to see how intimate relationship can be lived as a vehicle for awakening. I studied with Michael for eight years, until he died in 2001.

Concurrent with my studies with Michael, I had the great privilege of being accepted into Dr. John Welwood’s private “therapy group for therapists.” He has authored many books on bringing the spiritual dimension into psychology as well as the best-selling Love and Awakening and Journey of the Heart, both of which provide a road map to transforming primary relationships into a spiritual path. In our group, Dr. Welwood trained us to assist our clients to tap into their own innate wisdom stored in their bodies. This process has proven very valuable to my clients and students when combined with Tantra.

I make no claims to having the whole sex/love/relationship thing all wrapped up in ribbons and bows. I’m learning new lessons every day and still connecting the dots between my mind, body and spirit. I’ve been blessed with some miraculous teachers in the areas of relationship, communication, sexuality and spirituality. My Tantra teachers taught me enough Tantric practices, meditation and breath work to teach how you can raise your sexual energies and guide conscious pleasure throughout your body.

In private counseling or workshops, whether you are a single woman or in a partnership/relationship, my mission is the same: To help you integrate your sexuality with your inherent Divine Nature; to contribute to your expanded orgasmic capacity and your pleasurable, comfortable enjoyment in and out of relationship; to guide you to an improved relationship with relationship itself. Should you feel called to intimate relationship as your spiritual path - your process of awakening - I would be blessed to have the opportunity to provide my support.
